
ACS ist mit seinem Unternehmen zur Förderung von Solaranlagen in den Vereinigten Staaten, wo es derzeit zwei Anlagen mit einer Leistung von 150 Megawatt (MW) in den Staaten Carolina und Nevada, nach offiziellen Angaben des Unternehmens.
Es handelt sich um die ersten Thermosolen, die die Gruppe unter dem Vorsitz von Florentino Pérez außerhalb Spaniens bauen wird, wo es fünf Betriebe im Betrieb und zwei weitere im Bau hat, alle zum Verkauf.
Der Verkauf erfolgt im Rahmen der Veräußerung eines Portfolios von grünen Energieanlagen mit einer Gesamtleistung von 2.148 MW, überwiegend Windkraft und Betriebsleistung, die auf rund 5 Milliarden Euro geschätzt wird.
All dies ist Teil der Strategie, die ACS als Infrastrukturbetreiber in diesem Geschäft verfolgt. Die Gruppe investiert in die Förderung, den Bau und die Inbetriebnahme sauberer Energieanlagen und verkauft die Anlagen, sobald sie ausgereift sind, um in andere Projekte zu investieren.
Nach diesem Verkauf hat sie neben den beiden in den Vereinigten Staaten geförderten Thermosolen auch den Bau von fünf weiteren Anlagen in Spanien mit insgesamt 250 MW Leistung und verteilt sich auf Extremadura, Kastilien-La Mancha und Andalusien.
Parallel zum Verkauf von ca. 1800 MW in Windparks versucht ACS auch, sich in Nordamerika mit dieser Art der Erzeugung erneuerbarer Energien zu positionieren.
Derzeit sind zwei Windkraftanlagen in New Mexico und Texas in der Förder- und Finanzierungsphase, die nach Angaben der Europa Press-Gruppe 400 MW betragen.

Die internationale Entwicklung der Erneuerbare-Energien-Aktivität von ACS wird durch seinen Beitritt nach Portugal ergänzt, wodurch es sich auch für die Förderung von Biomasseanlagen einsetzen wird. Sie fördert insbesondere drei derartige Anlagen im Land, die 14 MW betragen.
Bis Ende 2010 verfügt das Portfolio für erneuerbare Energien (einschließlich der zum Verkauf angebotenen Anlagen) über 44 Windparks im Betrieb (1.183 MW), weitere sieben im Bau (308 MW) und weitere 21 im Förderbereich (1.617 MW). Bei Thermosolaren werden fünf im Betrieb (250 MW), zwei im Bau (100 MW) und sieben im Förderbetrieb (400 MW) eingesetzt.
Die Gruppe investierte 2010 in die Förderung von Anlagen für erneuerbare Energien 865 Mio. EUR. Die Verwaltung der in Betrieb befindlichen Parks und Anlagen hat im vergangenen Jahr einen Umsatz von 308 Mio. EUR erwirtschaftet, was 61,2% mehr als im Jahr 2009 entspricht.
