
See Algae Technology (SAT), ein österreichischer Infrastrukturlieferant für die industrielle Erzeugung von Algen, kündigt diesen Freitag die Unterzeichnung einer Vereinbarung mit der JB-Zuckerrohrerzeugergruppe in Pernambuco an, um die erste kommerzielle Anlage des Landes der Biokraftstoffproduktion aus Meeresalgen zu errichten.
Mit einer anfänglichen Investition von 8 Mio. EUR wird SAT in den ersten Monaten des nächsten Jahres den Bau der Anlage an die Fabrik in Vitória de Santa Antao, in Recife, in der Erstes Projekt der Welt mit Industrieskalierung für die Herstellung dieses alternativen Kraftstoffs.
Die Erwartung der Gesellschaft mit Sitz in Wien ist, die Operationen im vierten Quartal 2013 zu beginnen. Die Produktionskapazität der Einheit beträgt bis zu 1,2 Millionen Liter Algen-Biodiesel pro Jahr.
"Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit dieser Partnerschaft. Wir fanden in der JB-Gruppe die Geschwindigkeit und den Willen zu Innovationen, die wir in diesem Segment benötigen," so der Direktor von SAT, Rafael Bianchini, a Valor.
Auf Vertragsbasis wird SAT ein Mikroalgenfeld projizieren und die Produktionstechnologie über seinen Partner Dedini der JB-Gruppe bereitstellen sowie die Installation überwachen und ihre ursprüngliche Produktivität gewährleisten. Das Joint Venture wird auch SAT Zugang zu dem Netz von den kommerziellen Verträgen von der pernambucan Gruppe geben.
Die Produktion von Brennstoffen aus Mikroalgen ist eine Wette der Forscher für neue Generationen sauberer Biokraftstoffe, die nicht aus fossilen Quellen stammen. Viele Länder, darunter Brasilien, studieren den Sektor seit einiger Zeit. Schnelle Reproduktion und gute Ölproduktivität werden als echte Alternative zum Öl angesehen. Und sie haben einen unschlagbaren Vorteil: Sie kommen nicht in den Streit um landwirtschaftliche Flächen, ein für die Ernährungssicherheit entscheidendes Thema.
