Das spanische Amt für Luftingenieure und die Balearen-Delegation des spanischen Verbandes für Luftingenieurwesen haben für morgen organisiert Freitag, 10. April in CaixaForum Palma, ein Akt der Hommage an den mallorquinischen Ingenieur Andreas Ripoll Muntaner, ehemaliges Mitglied der Europäischen Weltraumagentur, ESA.

 

Andrés Ripoll hat einen brillanten Weg als Ingenieur und Wissenschaftler seit über 40 Jahren im Bereich der Weltraumforschung. Seit ihrer Teilnahme am NASA-Apollo-Programm, die die ersten Männer zum Mond führte, hat an den Projekten mitgewirkt Skylab (die erste amerikanische Raumstation), Apollo-Soyuz (Kooperationsprogramm zwischen den USA und Russland) und in zahlreichen unausgebildeten Kosmosforschungs-, Erdbeobachtungs- und Telekommunikationsprojekten. Er hat die Station für die Verfolgung von Satelliten von Villafranca del Castillo (die 13 Jahre lang regierte) und außerdem Gründer und erster Direktor des Europäischen Astronautenzentrums der ESA in Köln war.

 

Mit dieser Hommage an das COIAE und das AIAE wollen sie die außergewöhnliche Gestalt von Andrés Ripoll vor der mallorquinischen Gesellschaft noch verstärken und verbreiten, was als Referenz und Anregung für künftige Generationen gilt, sowie die vielen interessanten Aktivitäten im Raumfahrtsektor bekannt machen, in dem wissenschaftliche Pioniere und nicht nur wenige technologische Herausforderungen zu finden sind.

 

An dieser Veranstaltung wird die ESA mit einer wichtigen Delegation unter Leitung von Álvaro Giménez teilnehmen, dem derzeitigen Direktor für Wissenschaft und Robotik der ESA und auch Direktor des Europäischen Zentrums für Weltraumastronomie (ESAC), der der ESA angehört und sich in der Nähe von Madrid befindet.

 

Neben ihm begleitet Pedro Duque, Astronaut der ESA und Aeronautical Engineer, der die Konferenz halten wird "Europa beschließt, in den Weltraum zu gehen: Die Schaffung des europäischen Astronautenkorps und dessen Sitz in Köln."

 

Die Veranstaltung wird von dem Sozialwerk La Caixa, der Europäischen Weltraumagentur (ESA) sowie der Mallorquinischen Luft- und Raumfahrtstiftung und der Astronomischen Sternwarte Mallorca unterstützt.
