
Das Projekt RENEWAT "Optimised Renewable Mix for Energy Saving in Waste Water Treatment Plants") wurde von der Europäischen Kommission als Teil des Programms ausgewählt. Life+, die Umwelt- und Naturschutzprojekte mit dem größten Entwicklungspotenzial unterstützt.
Dieses FuE-Projekt wird von AKTIVIERT, Ziel ist es, die Tätigkeit der Kläranlagen mit der Verfügbarkeit erneuerbarer Energien in der Anlage zu synchronisieren, wodurch ihre Abhängigkeit von konventionellen Stromnetzen verringert wird.
Erneuerbare Systeme
Das Projekt RENEWAT wird mehrere erneuerbare Energiequellen wie Solarzellen und Mini-Windkraftwerke an eine Kläranlage anpassen und sie in ein "intelligentes Managementsystem" integrieren, das die Inbetriebnahme der Kläranlage mit der Verfügbarkeit erneuerbarer Energien koordiniert.
Auf diese Weise wird die optimale Kombination dieser Energien je nach den verfügbaren Ressourcen und der Leistung der Kläranlage wird die Energiemenge, die sie zu jedem Zeitpunkt erzeugt, angepasst; Optimierung des Energiemix, den die Anlage füttern wird. Darüber hinaus wird dieses "intelligente Management"-System den Energiebedarf in jeder Phase der Reinigung durch Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz besser anpassen.
Nach vorläufigen Studien wird die Energieabhängigkeit des Netzes um mehr als 30% verringert, wodurch die Endkosten des behandelten Wassers um ein Viertel gesenkt werden können. Dieses Managementsystem wird auch Umweltvorteile wie die Verringerung der Treibhausgasemissionen (ca. 45 Tonnen CO2 minus pro Jahr, das entspricht mehr als 1.500 Bäumen, je 100 KW erneuerbarer Energie, die die Energie aus dem Netz ersetzt).
Feldversuche
Dieses Projekt, das von der EU im Rahmen des Programms Life+ unterstützt wird und an dem auch ESAMUR (Regionale Abwasserentsorgungs- und Abwasserreinigungsanlage der Region Murcia) beteiligt ist, wird derzeit in der Kläranlage Archena, Murcia, getestet und kann in nahezu allen Kläranlagen repliziert werden, wobei jeweils das für ihren Standort geeignete Mix aus erneuerbaren Quellen ausgewählt wird.
Diese Forschung bietet ein enormes Potenzial zur Verringerung von Schadstoffen, da in der EU rund 16.000 Kläranlagen, die rund 10.000 GWh/Jahr Strom aus dem Netz verbrauchen und jedes Jahr mehr als 27 Millionen Tonnen CO2 ausstoßen, diese Technologie dazu führen würde, dass mehr als 8 Millionen Tonnen Treibhausgase nicht in die Atmosphäre gelangen.
