
In Deutschland haben Studenten an der Universität für angewandte Wissenschaften in Offenburg in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Verkehrssysteme und Infrastruktur Frauenhofter das Schluckspecht E entworfen und hergestellt, ein einsitziges Elektrofahrzeug für Studien.
Dieses Auto wurde auf Boschs Teststrecke in Boxberg (Deutschland) gebracht. Nachdem das Fahrzeug 36 Stunden und 12 Minuten lang fast 3000 Meter lang auf der Piste gerollt hatte, blieb es stehen, weil die Ladung zu Ende war. Ich hatte es geschafft, die unwürdige Entfernung von 1631.5 Kilometern zu beschreiten, ohne die Batterien aufzuladen.
Da es sich bei 36 Stunden ohne Unterbrechung um eine rhythmische Aufgabe handelt, wurde der Test von vier Piloten durchgeführt, die die Zeit am Steuer des Schluckspechts verdrehten, um das Fahrzeug mit einer durchschnittlichen Geschwindigkeit von 45 km/h zu fahren, bis das 23 kWh Lithium-Kobalt-Batterie-Set ausging.
Das elektrische Modell hat eine extrem aerodynamische Karosserie, es hat zwei Elektromotoren auf jedem Rad montiert, und das Batteriepack ist in 14 geteilt, um das Gewicht ideal zu verteilen. Der Pilot geht in die Mitte des Autos und die Batterien umgeben ihn.
Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass dieses Fahrzeug über beträchtliche Entfernungen fährt, da es früher fast 700 km im Stadtverkehr im South-African Solar Challenge gefahren war.
