
Eine Studie, die von Forschern des Mittelmeerinstitut für fortgeschrittene Studien, Gemischtes Zentrum des Obersten Rates für wissenschaftliche Forschung (CSIC) und Universität Balearen hat sich gezeigt, dass der Druck, der von der Verankerung von Schiffen in den Gewässern von Mallorca und Cabrera ausgeübt wird, negative Auswirkungen auf den Nakra, den größten bivalvo Mollusken des Mittelmeers hat.
Die Forschungsergebnisse wurden in der Zeitschrift Biological Conservation.
Die Nacra (Pinna nobilis) ist ein endemischer Mollusken des Mittelmeers. Sie können bis zu einem Meter lang sein und auf den Wiesen wohnen. Dieses Mollusken wurde traditionell als Fisch Souvenir, was zum Rückgang der Küstenbevölkerung beigetragen hat. Derzeit ist der Rückgang der Küstenlebensräume von Posidonia ozeanica durch den Druck der menschlichen Tätigkeit hat dazu beigetragen, dass die Nakra vom Aussterben bedroht ist.
Um die Faktoren zu ermitteln, die das Vorhandensein dieser Art beeinträchtigen können, haben die Forscher die Bevölkerungsdichte von Nacra an sechs verschiedenen Küstenorten in den Gewässern von Mallorca und Cabrera in einer Tiefe von 5 bis 6 Metern bewertet.
Die gewonnenen Daten spiegeln die sehr unterschiedlichen Bevölkerungsdichten wider, so die Forscherin Iris Hendriks. "Diese Unterschiede müssen auf externe Faktoren zurückzuführen sein, da sie nicht durch Faktoren erklärt werden können, die mit dem Lebensraum zusammenhängen, wie etwa die Abdeckung von Posidonienwiesen oder die durch Stürme verursachte Räumung."
Die Studie weist darauf hin, dass die Bevölkerungsdichte von Nacra mit der Verankerung von Freizeitbooten zusammenhängen könnte. Die Populationsanalyse zeigt, dass an Orten, an denen es nicht erlaubt war, die mittlere Dichte zu verankern, bis zu siebenmal höher war.
In den Schlussfolgerungen dieser Studie wird hervorgehoben, wie wichtig es ist, den Ankerdruck auf den Präriewiesen der Posidonie (derzeit verbotene, aber nicht respektierte Tätigkeit) zu verringern, um die Erhaltung der Nakrale zu fördern. Zu diesem Zweck schlagen die Forscher die Installation von ständigen Ankerbojen vor, um die Auswirkungen von Schiffen auf Wiesen und damit auf Nakraren zu verringern.
