
Das Haus Lumenhaus, das vom Team der Universität Virginia Tech durchgeführte Wettbewerbsprojekt, verwendet als Wärmeisolierung das Poliurethan, das aufgrund seiner herausragenden Leistungen als Wärmeisolation konzipiert wurde.
Das projizierte Polyurethan ist das effizienteste Material, das bei der thermischen Isolierung von Fassaden, Decks und Böden eingesetzt wird. Ihre Fähigkeit, maximale Isolierung durch die geringe Dicke zu bieten, garantiert die Energieeffizienz der Gebäude und Gebäude, die sie verwenden. So wurde in der letzten Ausgabe des bekannten Wettbewerbs "Solar Decathlon Europe 2010" gezeigt, dass in diesem Jahr 17 Hochschulteams aus sieben verschiedenen Ländern teilnahmen.
Das Lumenhaus, das von der Universität Virginia vorgeschlagen wurde und die Gewinnerin der neuesten Ausgabe von Solar Decathlon ist, bietet eine offene Einrichtung, die die Bewohner des Hauses mit der äußeren Natur verbindet. Es handelt sich um ein selbstverwaltetes Haus, das ausschließlich mit Solarenergie betrieben wird und dessen geplantes Polyurethan-Beschichtung es ermöglicht, das Haus mit einer energetischen optimalen Dicke dicht zu halten. Die Isolationsfähigkeit des Polyurethans ermöglicht es, die durch sein Solarmodulsystem aufgenommene Energie zu erhalten, indem das Gleichgewicht der Energieeffizienz mit dem Komfort des Benutzers erreicht wird.
Diese wichtige Anerkennung ist das renommierteste in Bezug auf Nachhaltigkeit und Solarwohnungen. Mit diesem Wettbewerb soll die Forschung und Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien im Gebäude gefördert werden, indem Realhäuser gebaut werden, die nachhaltig, komfortabel sind und deren einzige Energiequelle die Solarenergie ist.
Wieder einmal wird Polyurethan für seine grundlegende Leistung als Wärmeisolierung anerkannt: die Effizienz des optimalen Energieverbrauchs.
