Forscher der Polytechnische Universität Katalonien (UPC) haben die Infektionsbakterien aus Gesundheitsgewebe durch Enzymvorbehandlung und die gleichzeitige Abscheidung von Nanopartikel und Biopolymere mit Ultraschall.

 

Die Forschung wurde im Rahmen der Europäisches SONO-Projekt (Eine Pilotlinie für antibakterielle und antimykotische Gewebe auf der Grundlage von sonochemischen Verfahren), die mit 8,3 Mio. EUR aus dem Thema "Nanowissenschaften, Nanotechnologien, Werkstoffe und neue Produktionstechnologien" (NMP) des Siebten Rahmenprogramms der Europäischen Union (RP7) finanziert wird. SONO hat die Aufgabe, die antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften der im medizinischen Bereich verwendeten Gewebe durch diese avantgardistische Technik zu verbessern.

 

Die Forscher erklärten, dass die Technik die Schaffung von antimikrobielle Gewebe vollständig steril, die zur Kontrolle der Nosokomiale Infektionen. Eine der größten Herausforderungen für die Krankenhäuser sind gerade diese Art von Infektionen, die sich während der Krankenhausaufenthalte des Patienten entwickeln und die zum Zeitpunkt des Einzugs weder vorhanden waren noch Hinweise auf eine Inkubation zeigten. Diese Infektionen können bakterielle und Pilzinfektionen sein, und ihre Schwere ist aufgrund der geringeren Immunresistenz bei den Patienten höher.

 

Das SONO-Konsortium wird von der Bar-Ilan-Universität (Israel) mit 17 europäischen Partnern verwendete er Enzyme, die den Beitritt antimikrobieller Nanopartikel zum Gewebe unter Ultraschalleffekten verbessern. Mit der Anwendung dieser Enzyme haben die Forscher eine höhere Haltbarkeit der Nanopartikel im Gewebe erreicht, selbst nachdem sie siebzig Waschzyklen durchlaufen haben.

 

Die Ergebnisse der Studie ermöglichen die Herstellung von Geweben mit antimikrobiellen Eigenschaften mit absoluter Wirksamkeit. Ein weiterer positiver Faktor zur Gewährleistung der Wirksamkeit der antimikrobiellen Behandlung ist die Aufnahme von Hybridmaterialien in das Gewebe auf der Grundlage von organischen und anorganischen Bestandteilen wie Zink-Nanopartikel und Chitosan. Durch die Verwendung dieser Produkte können Bakterien entfernt und neue Mikroorganismen verhindert werden.

 

Die Forscher haben bereits mit mehreren Herstellern zusammengearbeitet, um mit zwei Prototypen Kästen und Krankenhauslaken herzustellen. Einer von ihnen ist in der italienischen Klopman International und der zweite in der rumänischen Firma DAVO Clothing. Die Gewebe, die in diesen beiden Maschinen hergestellt werden, werden bereits in einem Krankenhaus in Sofia (Bulgarien) mit hervorragenden Ergebnissen getestet.

 

Zu den Faktoren, die die Zahl der nosokomialen Infektionen erhöhen, zählen u. a. das Auftreten resistenter Mikroorganismen, die höhere Häufigkeit immunschwächender Patienten, die erhöhte Komplexität der durchgeführten Maßnahmen und die Durchführung invasiver Verfahren.

 

Die im Krankenhaus aufgetretenen Infektionen gehören zu den Hauptursachen für Todesfälle. und erhöhte Morbidität bei Patienten im Krankenhaus. Diese Infektionen leiden zwischen 3 und 10 Prozent der Patienten, die in ein Krankenhaus eingeliefert wurden und eine Sterblichkeitsrate von 1 Prozent aufweisen. Darüber hinaus erhöhen sie den Druck auf das Gesundheitssystem, z. B. durch einen längeren Rückgang von 5 bis 10 Tagen aufgrund dieser Infektionen.
