
Forscher an der Universität von Navarra arbeiten an der Entwicklung von thermoelektrischen Konvertern, um die ausgestoßene Wärmeenergie in industrielle und häusliche Prozesse durch Verbrennungsrauchen zurückzugewinnen und somit direkt nutzbare elektrische Energie zu erzeugen.
Dieses Forschungsprojekt wird vom Professor geleitet David Astrain Ulibarrena, für das eine Finanzierung in Höhe von 50.820 EUR aus der letzten Aufforderung des Ministeriums für Wirtschaft und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit zur Finanzierung von FuE-Projekten im Rahmen des staatlichen Forschungs- und Technologieprogramms für Forschung und Innovation 2013-2016 bereitgestellt wurde.
Die Wärmeerzeugung ist "eine Technologie, die die Fähigkeit hat, elektrische Energie aus Restwärmequellen zu erzeugen, und somit sowohl in großen Industriesystemen als auch in Wohngebäuden eine Möglichkeit zur Energierückgewinnung bietet," erklärt David Astrain. Die Thermoenergie wurde erfolgreich in verschiedenen Sektoren eingesetzt, wie z. B. im Automobilsektor oder sogar in so anspruchsvollen Bereichen wie der Raumfahrttechnologie (z. B. dem NASA-Erkundungsfahrzeug der Kuriosity, das zum Planeten Mars geschickt wurde). Dies ist auf "ihre Robustheit, Zuverlässigkeit und den geringen Wartungsbedarf aufgrund des Fehlens mobiler Teile" zurückzuführen, so der Hauptforscher des Projekts. Die größte Einschränkung dieser Technologie war jedoch "die geringe Effizienz, die derzeit intensiv erforscht wird."
Daher wird dieses Projekt von Forschern an der Universität von Navarra zur Entwicklung von thermoelektrischen Konvertern, das "eine neue technische Lösung darstellen wird, die sowohl zur Energieeffizienz als auch mittelfristig zur Entwicklung neuer Produkte im Zusammenhang mit dieser Technologie beitragen kann," so David Astrain, Professor für Maschinenbau, Energie und Werkstoffe.
Die Restwärme unter 250 °C nutzen
Dieses Projekt setzt die offene Linie mit einem anderen fort, genannt Herr (thermische Stromerzeugung mit Restwärmeenergie), deren allgemeines Ziel darin bestand, Wärmegeneratoren zu entwickeln, die Wärmeenergie mit niedrigem Wärmegehalt in elektrische Energie umwandeln, d. h.
