Eine internationale Studie, an der Sie sich beteiligt haben Oberster Rat für wissenschaftliche Forschung (CSIC) hat ein mathematisches Modell entwickelt, um Umweltkollapse durch die Erkennung von frühen Anzeichen von Veränderungen vorherzusehen. Die Arbeit, veröffentlicht in Natur, schlägt vor, dass der Gesundheitszustand der Ökosysteme fluktuiert kurz vor dem Einstürzen plötzlich.

 

Um die Gültigkeit seiner Theorie zu demonstrieren, haben Forscher das mathematische Modell auf eine reale Situation angewandt: den Umweltkollaps am Erhaisee in der Provinz China in Yunnan. Durch die Analyse der Fossile Aufzeichnung von Diatomeen-Mikroalgen Für 125 Jahre stellten sie fest, dass die Algengemeinden in Konzentration und Art bis zu 30 Jahren relativ stabil blieben, bevor der See eine massive Veränderung erlitt und einen Zustand der Verschmutzung und der Turbidität zeigte.

 

"In den letzten drei Jahrzehnten des Registers sind viele Schwankungen zu beobachten, und wir sehen eine Reihe von plötzlichen Veränderungen in den Algenarten und deren Konzentration im Wasser kurz vor dem Zusammenbruch. Wir glauben, dass die Algenpopulationsdynamiken die Widerstandsfähigkeit des Ökosystems des Sees anzeigen und dazu beitragen können, die Nähe eines Punkts ohne Rückkehr zu messen," erklärt CSIC-Forscher. Vasilis Dakos, von der biologischen Station Doñana. 

 

Nach Ansicht der Autoren der Studie beschränkt sich die Anwendung dieses mathematischen Modells nicht auf den Bereich der Seen, sondern könnte in anderen Bereichen wie Fischerei, Landwirtschaft und Sozialsysteme eingesetzt werden.

 

In der Forschung war auch die Universität Southampton, im Vereinigten Königreich und Universität WageningenIn den Niederlanden.
