El Grafen ist eine Kohlenstoffallotropie, die aus einem hexagonalen flachen (wie einer Bienenwabe) -Tesel besteht, der aus Kohlenstoffatomen und kovalenten Verbindungen besteht, die aus der Überlagerung der sp2-Hybrid-Sp2 der verlinkten Kohlenwasserstoffen gebildet werden. Zur Liste ihrer vielfältigen Tugenden könnte nun ihr piezoelektrisches Potenzial hinzugefügt werden.

La Piezostrom Es handelt sich um ein Phänomen, das von bestimmten Kristallen dargestellt wird, die bei mechanischer Spannung eine elektrische Polarisation in ihrer Masse erreichen, wobei ein Unterschied zwischen Potenzial und elektrischen Belastungen auf ihrer Oberfläche entsteht. Dieses Phänomen tritt auch umgekehrt auf, d.h. sie werden unter der Wirkung innerer Kräfte verformt, wenn sie einem elektrischen Feld unterworfen werden. Die piezoelektrische Wirkung ist normalerweise reversibel: Wenn die Kristalle nicht mehr einer äußeren Spannung oder einem elektrischen Feld ausgesetzt sind, erhalten sie ihre Form zurück.

Ein Team von Ingenieuren in der Universität Houston in Texas hat berechnet, dass es möglich ist, Grafen zu zwingen, sich wie ein piezoelektrisches Material zu verhalten, indem man einfach Löcher in einem Grafenblatt zu öffnen, die an bestimmten Punkten der Folie nach einer besonderen Konfiguration angeordnet sind.

Wissenschaftler haben in piezoelektrischen Substanzen eine gute Ressource für hochmoderne Entwicklungen, wie z.B. die Sammlung mechanischer Energie in schwer nutzbaren Quellen durch andere Methoden oder künstliche Muskeln, und sie dienen auch Ingenieuren zur Herstellung hochpräziser Sensoren.

Grafen in seiner natürlichen Form ist kein piezoelektrisches Material. Aber die Ingenieure der Universität Houston sagten voraus, daß es, wenn sie eine Grafenfolie vom Halbleitertyp oder vom Isoliertyp nehmen und sie durchbohren würden, indem sie in der richtigen Anordnung Dreieckslöcher öffneten, genügte es, auf das Material einen einheitlichen Druck anzuwenden, um es so zu verhalten, als wäre es piezoelektrischer Art.

Die Ergebnisse des Teams von Swapnil Chandratre und Pradeep Sharma deuten darauf hin, dass Dreieckslöcher im Grafen ein piezoelektrisches Verhalten fördern, während runde Löcher diesen Effekt nicht haben.

Die Forscher haben auch festgestellt, dass diese Tugend, die das so gebohrte Grafen besitzt, fast so gut ist wie der elektrische Piezo, der sehr bekannte piezoelektrische Substanzen hat, wie z.B. Quarz.
