
Zwei spanische Wissenschaftler, Carlos Cordon und Josep Domingo-Domenech, Leiter der Abteilung für Pathologie und Onkologe Mount Sinai Krankenhaus in New York (USA) Geisterzellen die die Resistenz von Krebs gegen Therapien wie Chemotherapie fördern.
Nach Ansicht der Forscher gibt es bei allen Krebsarten eine Unterpopulation von Zellen wie embryonale Stammzellen, ohne Marker, Geister, die unbemerkt bleiben.
Dies könnte ein wichtiger Schritt zur Verbesserung der Wirksamkeit der Behandlung der Ursachen dieser Krankheit sein, die Resistenz gegen Chemotherapie ist ein häufiges und verheerendes Phänomen, wenn Krebszellenkolonien wieder auftreten.
Die wissenschaftliche Studie ist der Höhepunkt von sechs Jahren der Grundlagenforschung und die viermonatige Überprüfung der Ergebnisse durch ein internationales Expertenteam, und ihre Ergebnisse werden in der Zeitschrift HELIOS veröffentlicht werden.Krebs Cell».

In der Forschung wurden an menschlichen Geweben Tests durchgeführt, und es wurden Zellen dieser Art in allen primären und metastasierten Tumoren gefunden.
Derzeit Medikamente auf dem Markt, die die Signalwege angreifen und diese Zellen zerstören könnten.
Diese Zellen sind in allen Geweben vorhanden und sind möglicherweise für die Resistenz gegen Chemotherapie verantwortlich, sind extrem resistent und reich an Entgiftungs- und Transportsystemen: Die Therapieverbindungen, die eindringen (in diese Zellen), werden schnell ausgeschieden.
