
Das Geologische Institut in Catalunya (IGC) hat die erste Karte Spaniens über Geothermie fertiggestellt, eine Initiative, die es ermöglicht, die thermischen Bedingungen der Erdkruste in der katalanischen Gemeinschaft kennenzulernen und die potenzielle künftige Entwicklung von Energie aus der Wärme, die aus dem Inneren der Erde stammt, zu analysieren.
Das Projekt wird in 22 thematische Karten im Maßstab 1:500.000mit Informationen über die geologische Zusammensetzung des Bodens und die auf der Oberfläche berechnete Temperatur, a 100 Meter tief und zwischen 3 und 15 Kilometern.
"Alle diese Daten ermöglichen es zu analysieren, wie Wärme auf die Erdoberfläche transportiert wird," so der Bericht, der erklärt, dass das Projekt das Ergebnis der gemeinsamen Arbeit zwischen dem IGC, dem Institut für Energie in Catalunya und dem Institut für Erdwissenschaften Jaume Almera des CSIC sei.
Die Karten liefern Informationen über die derzeitige Lage der geothermischen Energie und ihr Entwicklungspotenzial in Katalonien und wurden auf der Grundlage geologischer, hydrogeologischer Kenntnisse, der Anwesenheit von thermischen Manifestationen und der bekannten geothermischen Anlagen erstellt.
Der Atlas kann von der IGC-Website und von der Daten-Space Infrastructure in Catalunya abgerufen werden, um den Inhalten eine maximale Verbreitung zu geben.
