Ein Team russischer Wissenschaftler hat die Lokalisierung von Zellen von Mammut in gutem Zustand dieses prähistorischen Tieres, das vor mehreren tausend Jahren ausgestorben ist. Der Fund fand in der sibirischen Republik Yakutia statt.

 

Diese Entdeckung öffnet die Türen für Ihre mögliches Klonenhat das Interesse des umstrittenen koreanischen Wissenschaftlers bereits geweckt Hwang Woo-suk, Experte für das Klonen von Tieren der Stiftung für Biotechnische Forschung in Seoul.

 

 

Mögliche Klonierung

 

An der Expedition nahmen russische Wissenschaftler, Spezialisten aus den Vereinigten Staaten, Großbritannien, Japan, Kanada, Schweden und Südkorea teil.

 

Semion Grigoriev, Leiter der Paläontologischen Expedition Yana-2012, wies darauf hin, dass genügend Material für die Untersuchung gefunden worden sei. Unter diesen Überresten befanden sich "weiche und weiche Gewebe, Wolle und Knochenmark von Mammut," alles fast 100 Meter tief.

 

Nach Ansicht von Experten ist es möglich, ein Mammut zu klonen, da die Zellen dieses prähistorischen Tieres sowohl in seinem Blut als auch in seinen inneren Organen, in der Haut und in den Knochen gefunden werden können. Der Schlüssel ist, in einem Tier, das vor Tausenden von Jahren vor Kälte oder Hunger verstarb, Gewebe und Zellen in gutem Zustand zu finden.

 

Die Ursache für sein Verschwinden, das vor etwa 11.000 Jahren begann, als die Bevölkerung dieser Tiere vor 3600 Jahren bis zum völligen Aussterben der letzten sibirischen Exemplare zu sinken begann, ist nach wie vor inkognito. Die meisten Experten schätzen, daß die Mammuts aufgrund einer plötzlichen Temperaturänderung auf der Erde ausgestorben sind, obwohl es auch andere gibt, die sie auf die Belästigung von Jägern oder auf eine große Epidemie zurückzuführen sind.

 

Im vergangenen März kündigten russische Wissenschaftler die Pläne an, ein prähistorisches Exemplar von Mammut zu klonen, das 10.000 Jahre lang auf dem Gebiet von Jakutia eingefroren war.

 

 

Nächste Schritte

 

Ein Sprecher des Instituts für angewandte Ökologie (IEA) in Sibirien an die offizielle Agentur RIA-Novosti erklärte: "Die Zellen des betreffenden Mammuts würden in Embryonen eines Elefanten aus Indien eingeführt, da es sich um seinen engsten genetischen Verwandten handelt."

 

Die Mammuts erschienen vor 3 oder 4 Millionen Jahren in Afrika, zwei Millionen Jahre vor Europa und Asien und kamen vor 500.000 Jahren nach Nordamerika, über die Straße von Béring.
