Ein Projekt, das aus europäischen Mitteln finanziert wird, das Projekt MACC-II (Portugiesisch: Monitoring Atmospheric Composition and Climate - Interim Implementation Houten) ist für die Kombination von Informationen aus der direkte Beobachtung der Erde mit Daten über Luftmodellierung auf europäischer Ebene, um qualitativ hochwertige Informationen über die Umwelt zu liefern.

 

Die behandelten Informationen beziehen sich auf die Luftqualität in Europa, Zusammensetzung der Atmosphäre • die klimatische Belastung, die Ozonschicht, bis hin zur UV-Strahlung und Sonnenenergie.

 

Um die richtigen Entscheidungen treffen zu können, damit unsere Lebensqualität jetzt und in Zukunft erhalten bleibt, müssen zuverlässige, aktuelle und genaue Daten über das Geschehen in der Atmosphäre und über das, was morgen erwartet wird, vorliegen.

 

 

MAC-II-Projekt



MacC-II ist das dritte von einer Reihe von Projekten, die von der Europäischen Kommission und der Europäischen Weltraumorganisation finanziert werden, die das Ziel verfolgen, den für Kopernikus vorgesehenen Luftdienst, das europäische Erdbeobachtungsprogramm, einzurichten.

MacC-II befindet sich in den letzten Monaten, und der Luftüberwachungsdienst von Kopernikus befindet sich bereits in einer präoperativen Phase und liefert bereits einen konstanten Datenfluss über die Zusammensetzung der Atmosphäre. Dieser Dienst gibt die aktuelle Situation an, bietet Prognosen für mehrere Tage und analysiert Aufzeichnungen über die letzten Jahre.

 



MACC-II verbindet Beobachtungen vor Ort und über Satellit mit fortgeschrittenen numerischen Modellen, um Produkte wie etwa fünftägige Prognosen über die globale Luftzusammensetzung und viertägige Prognosen über Luftqualität in Europa zu schaffen.

So wurde bei den im August 2012 in Südosteuropa gemeldeten Bränden MACC-II ein Echtzeit-Feuermeldesystem aus Satellitenbeobachtungen eingesetzt, um die Menge der in die Atmosphäre freigesetzten Rauchpartikel zu schätzen. Diese Informationen wurden anschließend in einem Vorhersagemodell verwendet, um die Ausbreitung der Rauchmauer in den darauf folgenden Tagen vorherzusehen.

MACC-II bietet der Solarindustrie, dem Elektrizitätssektor und den für erneuerbare Energien zuständigen Einrichtungen genaue und relevante Informationen über Sonnenstrahlungsressourcen auf der Erdoberfläche.

Darüber hinaus unterstützt sie Studien über die Auswirkungen von Schadstoffen und mögliche Maßnahmen zur Minderung ihrer Auswirkungen, indem sie jährliche Bewertungen der Luftqualität durchführt und die Treibhausgase, ihre Quellen und Senken auf der Erdoberfläche überwacht.

 

 

Beteiligung von 13 Ländern


Das Projekt wird vom ECMWF (Europäisches Zentrum für mittelfristige Wettervorhersage) umfasst 36 Partner aus 13 Ländern. Es wird angenommen, dass es eines der wenigen Projekte seiner Kategorie in der Welt.

Benutzer aus fast allen Ländern der Welt haben bereits Zugang zu den Produkten von MACC-II, die kostenlos in http://atmosphere.copernicus.eu. MACC-II wird bis Juli 2014 in Betrieb sein, wenn die operative Phase von Kopernikus geplant ist.
