
Forscher der Universität Zaragoza eine neue Methode zur Analyse eines einzelnen Nanopartikels entwickelt haben, die bei der Ermittlung der Identität, der Merkmale und der Konzentrationen dieser Stoffe in Produkten mit großem menschlichen Verzehr.
Diese Arbeit, die von der Gruppe für analytische und sensorische Wraithkopie (GEAS) des Institut für Umweltwissenschaften in Aragon (IUCA), wurde als Titelseite des Monats März der wichtigsten Zeitschrift im Bereich der analytischen Chemie der American Chemical Society (Analytical Chemistry, USA).
Diese Arbeit über die individuelle Charakterisierung von Nanopartikeln führt dazu, dass es an zuverlässigen Methoden zur Bestimmung der Identität von Nanopartikel und ihrer Konzentration in Produkten mit hohem menschlichen Verzehr mangelt.
Die Forscher Francisco Laborda, Eduardo Bolea und Javier Jiménez-Lamana von der GEAS-Gruppe des Instituts für Umweltforschung (IUCA) haben eine neue Methode durch Verbindung von leistungsstarke Flussfeldtrennungstechniken (FIFFF) mit induktiven Plasmaionisationsvorrichtungen und Massenspektrometrie.
Ein einzelnes Nanopartikel kann Informationen über lösliche Formen, Größenverteilungen, Anzahl und Massenkonzentration liefern. Aufgrund ihres Potenzials wurde diese Methode in einem jüngsten Bericht des Instituts für Referenzmaterialien und -messungen (IRMM) über die Umsetzung der Definition von Nanomaterialien durch die Europäische Union berücksichtigt.
Bei der Erkennung eines einzelnen Nanopartikels erzeugen seine Atome ein Bündel gasförmiger Ionen im Plasma, die als ein einziger Puls durch den Detektor im Massenspektrometer gemessen werden. Die Intensität dieses einzigen Pulses hängt mit der Anzahl der Analytenatome im Nanopartikel und damit mit der Masse des Analyten und der Größe des Analyten zusammen.
Andererseits ist die Pulsfrequenz proportional zur Konzentration der Anzahl der Nanopartikel. In der Praxis müssen geeignete Datenerfassungsfrequenzen und Konzentrationen in der Anzahl von Nanopartikeln ausgewählt werden, um sicherzustellen, dass jeder Impuls nur einem Nanoteilchen entspricht. Die entwickelte Technik ermöglicht die Durchführung von Studien von großer Bedeutung zur Bekämpfung dieser neu auftretenden Schadstoffe (Nanomaterialien) im wirtschaftlichen und zytonanotoxikologischen Bereich.
