Die Universität von Alicante entwickelt neue Laser, die als mechanisch flexibel, kompakt, langlebig und leicht mit anderen Geräten integriert werden können, sowie Licht im gesamten sichtbaren Spektrum.

 

El Gruppe "Elektronik und Bio-Photonik" der AU, Mitglied des Abteilung für angewandte Physik und Hochschulinstitut für Werkstoffe (IUMA), angeführt von der Professorin, Maria A. Díaz-Garcia, zusammen mit der Universität von Málaga, haben diese Laser mit organischen und nachhaltigen Materialien hergestellt. Sie sind in Form von dünnen Kunststofffolien mit einfachen und wirtschaftlichen Methoden hergestellt und sehr effizient und stabil, da sie über einen langen Zeitraum ohne Verschlechterung verwendet werden können, während sie eine Farbmodulation in praktisch dem gesamten sichtbaren Spektrum ermöglichen.

 

Die Fortschritte dieser Arbeit wurden gerade in der wissenschaftlichen Zeitschrift veröffentlicht. Nature Communications, mit dem Titel“Carbon-bridged oligo (p-phenylenevinylene) for solution processable, photo-stable and broadly tunable organic solid-state lasers”

 

 

Umfang des Anwendungsbereichs

 

Ihre Attraktivität liegt in ihren potenziellen Anwendungen und Verbesserungen im Bereich der optischen Kommunikation als Signalverstärker, in Spektroskopie und Medizin als Lichtquellen für die Behandlung, z. B. von Hautflecken oder Laserentfernungen, oder zur Erkennung chemischer und biologischer Substanzen. Im letzteren Sektor sind die neuen Laser ein großer gesellschaftlicher Fortschritt, da sie eine hochempfindliche Erkennung von explosiven Stoffen in Dämpfen, die Analyse von Bestandteilen in Lebensmitteln oder verschiedene Arten von krankheitsbedingten Blutprodukten ermöglichen.

 

Der Schlüssel zum Erfolg dieser Geräte ist das Material, mit dem sie hergestellt werden, da es eine neue Gruppe von Molekülen mit der Bezeichnung COPVs kombiniert. Im Wesentlichen aus Kohlenstoff und Wasserstoff bestehend, wurden sie von der Gruppe von Professor Eiichi Nakamura an der Universität von Tokyo synthetisiert, mit der die Forschungsgruppe der Universität von Alicante eine fruchtbare Zusammenarbeit unterhält. "Die Anwendung dieser Moleküle als organische Laser ist im Begriff, patentiert zu werden," sagt Maria A. Díaz-Garcia.
