
Die Firma Adapco hat gerade die Einführung eines computerunterstützten Engineering-Werkzeugs angekündigt, genannt STAR-CCM + Battery Simulation Module, entwickelt für die Simulation Lithium-Ionen-Batterien in Spiralform. Diese Technologie soll der Automobil- und Batterieindustrie helfen, Stromquellen für Elektrofahrzeuge schneller zu entwerfen und zu entwickeln.
Das Projekt, das im August 2011 begonnen hat, ist von der National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Energieministerium der Vereinigten Staaten. USA. (DOE) Die neue Spiralstapel-Software wurde innerhalb des ersten Jahres eines Mehrjahresvertrags entwickelt.
"Die proliferierenden Simulationsmethoden in diesem neuen und sich rasch verändernden Bereich der Entwicklung von Ion-Lithium-Batterien sind das Ziel des CAEBAT-Projekts (Computer-Aided Engineering for Electric Drive Vehicle Batteries)," sagte Ahmed Pesaran, Teamleiter der Energy Storage-Gruppe im NREL. "Inklusive dieser Modelle in ihr Hauptprodukt unterstützt CD-Adapco das Energieministerium, um diese Ziele zu erreichen."
Das Tool wurde in Kombination mit Battery Design LLC, Johnson Controls, Inc. und A123 Systems erstellt.
Projektziele
Dieses Technologieprojekt zur Computersimulation war eines der drei Projekte, die zur Unterstützung des CAEBAT-Programms von DEO ausgewählt wurden, um den Ölverbrauch und die Treibhausgasemissionen zu verringern. Das Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy von DOE stellte die Finanzierung bereit.
Die Ziele des Projekts sind die Entwicklung von Batterietechnik-Werkzeugen für Konstruktion von Batterien und Batterien; Validierung der Genauigkeit dieser Werkzeuge; Verringerung der Prototypisierungs- und Herstellungsverfahren; Verbesserung der Gesamtleistung der Batterien, Sicherheit und Lebensdauer und Senkung der Kosten für Batterien.
