03/07/2013 - Neues Röntgenbildsystem mit medizinischen und industriellen Anwendungen

Ein multidisziplinäres Team, das von der Oberster Rat für wissenschaftliche Forschung (CSIC) das Patent einer Einrichtung erteilt hat, die es ermöglicht, neue Informationen über Gegenstände zu erhalten, die von Gamma- oder Röntgenstrahlen. Das System basiert auf einem neuen Bild-Modus, die Densitometrisches Bild, die sowohl industrielle als auch medizinische Anwendungen hat.

 

Die Röntgenbildsysteme basieren auf der Absorption von Röntgenstrahlen oder Gamma-Fotonen bei der Durchdringung von Geweben oder Gegenständen, was mit der Form des Objekts und der elektronischen Dichte des Materials (Elektronen pro Volumeneinheit) zusammenhängt. Das Ergebnis ist eine projektives Bild, das die Summe der auf einer zweidimensionalen Oberfläche projizierten Objektstrukturen darstellt.

 

"Das neue System enthält außerdem Rauminformationen über den Patienten oder das Objekt, das erkundet wurde. Die Integration dieser Informationen in die konventionellen radiologischen Informationen ermöglicht es uns, eine neue Bildform mit mehreren industriellen und biochemischen Anwendungen zu erhalten," erklärt CSIC-Forscher. In der klinischen Diagnose enthält diese Art von Bild auch Informationen über die Physonomie des Patienten, erleichtert die Interpretation des Bildes und hilft bei der Entscheidung des Radiologen und beschleunigt die Diagnose. Diese Verbesserung der Bildqualität erfolgt durch eine räumliche Korrektur und nicht durch mathematische Filter, die zu Fehlern bei der Interpretation von Verletzungen führen könnten. Das System ermöglicht auch eine genauere Quantifizierung der Absorption in kalibrierten Systemen und eine Parametrisierung der Absorptionswerte, die je nach der Dicke des Materials ermittelt werden.

 

Bei industriellen Anwendungen ermöglicht die Densitometrie die Bestimmung der Zusammensetzung des Objekts, das nicht von den derzeitigen Röntgensystemen abgeleitet werden kann, die für die Objektkontrolle und Qualitätskontrolle verwendet werden. Durch die Eingabe neuer Informationen über das analysierte Objekt erleichtert dieses System die Untersuchung, wobei es beispielsweise die Menge an Fettgewebe in Fleischteilen unterscheiden kann.

 

Das neue System wurde von Forschern des Instituts für Corpuscular Physik (gemischt vom CSIC und der Universitat deValència), des Instituts für Agrochemie und Lebensmitteltechnologie (CSIC) und des Instituts für Telekommunikation und Multimedia-Anwendungen (Universitat Politic deValèencia) entwickelt.
