08/05/2012 - Pegasus-Projekt. Ein Luftschiff für die Studie der Atmosphäre und des Klimawandels

Die EU wird ein Luftschiff starten, das mehrere Länder des Kontinents durchqueren und Luftdaten sammeln wird. Insbesondere wird das Luftschiff ab dem 14. Mai 20 Wochen lang mit Deutschland und den Niederlanden, Dänemark, Schweden, Finnland, Österreich, Slowenien, Italien und Frankreich fliegen.

 

Das von der EU Pegasus Wie die EU-Kommissarin für Forschung, Innovation und Wissenschaft, Marie Geoghegan-Quinn, angekündigt hat, wurde bereits eine Studie über die Luftchemie und den Klimawandel in Europa durchgeführt.

 

Geoghegan-Quinn hat die Ergebnisse des Projekts dargelegt, die eine solide wissenschaftliche Grundlage für eine bessere Bekämpfung des Klimawandels und die Verbesserung der Luftqualität in Europa bieten werden.

 

"Nach Angaben der Europäischen Umweltagentur werden die Kosten für die Gesundheit und die Umwelt von Luftschadstoffen, die in Europa jährlich freigesetzt werden, über 100 Milliarden Euro betragen, und Forschungsprojekte wie "Pegasos" werden einen wertvollen Beitrag zur Überprüfung der EU-Politik zur Bekämpfung der Luftverschmutzung leisten, die im Jahr 2013 durchgeführt werden soll," so die Kommissarin.

 

 

Messung der Verschmutzung

 

Dieses Projekt wird die Auswirkungen der Luftverschmutzung in Europa auf den Klimawandel untersuchen und umgekehrt in Kombination mit Feldmessungen mit Luft- und Klimamodelle Die neueste Generation.

 

Aufgrund der einzigartigen Flugmerkmale des Luftschiffes können Wissenschaftler sich eine beispiellose Meinung darüber bilden, wie die Verschmutzung auf dem Kilometer oder den zwei Kilometer tiefsten der Atmosphäre verteilt wird, wo die meisten Schadstoffe im Boden mit anderen Luftschadstoffen reagieren.

 

Das Luftschiff, das eine Ausrüstung mit mehr als einer Tonne Gewicht befördert, kann in dieser Höhe bis zu 24 Stunden hintereinander aufsteigen und absteigen.

 

Während ihrer Mission werden die Wissenschaftler ihre Aufmerksamkeit auf die Hydroxyl- Radikale und Aerosole, die die größten Auswirkungen auf Klima und Gesundheit haben. Die Hydroxyl-Radikale werden manchmal als Reinigungsmittel in der Atmosphäre Sie verursachen den Abbau von Schadstoffen.

 

Die Kommissarin erklärte, dass sowohl die Routen der Mission als auch die Messstellen mit den vorhandenen Bodenmessstationen koordiniert wurden. Auf diese Weise können die Forscher die Flugdaten direkt mit denen der Messstationen vergleichen.
