Das USB-IF (USB Implementors Forum), ein Gremium, das die Technologie hinter dem USB reguliert, arbeitet an einer neuen Standardspezifikation, die es Ihnen ermöglicht, mehr Energie zu liefern, als Sie derzeit erwarten, bis zu 100W Energie mit der neuen Spezifikation liefern könnten, ausreichend, um unzählige Geräte wie Netbook, Notebook, Tablets, externe Festplatten und USB-Geräte schneller zu laden.

 

Derzeit ist eines der Probleme des USB ist, dass es nur 5W liefert, was für einige Geräte unzureichend ist, wie zum Beispiel das iPad, das etwa 10W erfordert, andere Geräte brauchen auch mehr Energie als die, die der USB-Port liefert. Mit 100W USB-Energie können diese Geräte sogar schneller geladen werden und sogar aufhören, von einer Hilfsversorgung abhängig zu sein.

 

Diese neue Spezifikation soll mit der USB Battery Charging 1.2-Spezifikation des aktuellen Standards koexistieren und sowohl mit USB 2.0 als auch mit USB 3.0 arbeiten. Die neue Spezifikation wird es ermöglichen, die Spannungs- und Stromwerte über den gleichen Stromschalter des USB-Kabels zu verhandeln und eine austauschbare Energiequelle zu ermöglichen, ohne die Kabeladresse zu ändern oder zu ändern.

 

Die wichtigsten Merkmale der nächsten Lösung sind:

 

1. Kompatibel mit ☆☆☆☆☆ Kabeln und Anschlüssen

2. Enables voltage and current values to be negotiated over the USB power pins

3. Enables higher voltage and current in order to deliver power up to 100W

4. Switchable source of power delivery without changing cable direction

5. Coexists with USB Battery Charging 1.2 and works equally well with both USB 2.0 and USB 3.0

 

Die "USB Power Delivery Specification" erwartet die Überprüfung und Genehmigung der Industrie für das vierte Quartal dieses Jahres. Weitere Informationen dazu finden Sie im Intel Developer Forum (IDF) vom 13. bis 15. September in San Francisco California. Nach Beginn des Jahres 2012 hofft der USB-IF, den Übergang zu den endgültigen Spezifikationen zu machen, um mit der Einführung der Technologie auf dem Markt zu beginnen.
