WALKX ist ein zweijähriges Forschungsprojekt, das von der Europäischen Kommission über das Siebte Rahmenprogramm kofinanziert wird (RP7) an dem sich der Ausschuß in erster Linie beteiligt Institut für Biomechanik in Valencia (IBV, Spanien).

 

Osten Rehabilitationssystem für den Haushalt Es wurde entwickelt, um dem Patienten zu helfen, sich von seinem Sitz zu bewegen und seine allgemeine Bewegungsfähigkeit zu verbessern. Ziel ist es, die Autonomie der Patienten zu erhöhen, insbesondere derjenigen, die einen Schlaganfall erlitten haben (zerebrovaskulärer Unfall), der häufigsten Ursache für schwere Behinderungen in der europäischen Erwachsenenbevölkerung. Etwa am 75 Prozent der Opfer überleben, aber ein hoher Anteil dieser Menschen verliert die Fähigkeit, unabhängig in ihrem eigenen Haushalt zu leben.

 

Die Rehabilitation und Krankenhausaufenthalte dieser Menschen sind in der Europäischen Union eine erhebliche wirtschaftliche Belastung von rund 34 Milliarden Euro pro Jahr. Derzeit beträgt die jährliche Inzidenz in der EU etwa 2 pro 1000 Einwohner, die sich aufgrund der Bevölkerungsalterung voraussichtlich in 50 Jahren verdoppeln wird.

 

Ignacio Bermejo, Marktinnovationsdirektor des IBV, erklärte: "Es wird ein steuerbares und stabiles Hebegurt für den oberen Teil des Körpers geben. In der ersten Phase des Rehabilitationsprozesses wird es mit der Überwachung eines Therapeuten eingesetzt werden, aber die notwendige physische Unterstützung durch Therapeute wird viel geringer sein. Damit soll der Bedarf an Hilfe für andere Personen verringert und die Freiheit der persönlichen Bewegungsfreiheit und Autonomie des Patienten erhöht werden.

 

Ein wichtiger Aspekt dieses Gerätes ist ein Gurt mit Haltepunkten an der Taille des Patienten, der es ermöglicht, die Mobilität im Körperbereich des Stammes zu regulieren. Die Ausrüstung muss modular und kostengünstig sein. Die vorklinischen Tests wurden bereits durchgeführt, um den Prototypen zu validieren, der sich aus der Forschung in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Dienst für physikalische Medizin und Rehabilitation ergibt. Das Projekt wird von der norwegischen Firma Made for Movement Group koordiniert. Neben dem Institut für Biomechanik nehmen an dieser europäischen Initiative auch die Technologiezentren Eesti Innovatsiooni Instituut (Estland) und Innora Robotics (Griechenland) sowie die Unternehmen Newtrim und MCT (Vereinigtes Königreich), ENIX (Frankreich), Motus (Italien) und Mobile Robotics Sweden (Schweden) teil.
