
Die chinesische staatliche Elektrizitätsgesellschaft (State Grid Corporation) und die BYD-Firma, eine der fortschrittlichsten bei der Entwicklung von Elektroautos, haben heute das Ende der Arbeiten der größten Batteriespeicherstation der Welt in Zhangbei (Nord) angekündigt. Die Station, die Solar- und Windkraftgeneratoren kombiniert, wird eine Produktion von 140 Megawatt und eine Speicherkapazität von 36 Megawatt pro Stunde haben, hob die Firmen hervor.
Die Projektleiter betonten, dass zwar bereits heute größere und größere Systeme für die Erzeugung erneuerbarer Energien existieren, dass dies jedoch das erste ist, das über eine so große Speicherkapazität verfügt. Im System wurde BYD-Eisenphosphat-Batterientechnologie eingesetzt, die 20 Jahre lang eingesetzt werden kann und mit der die Effizienz der erzeugten erneuerbaren Energie um 5 bis 10 Prozent verbessert werden soll.
China hat 2009 die USA als weltweit größter Investor für saubere Energien (35 Milliarden Dollar in diesem Jahr) übertroffen, obwohl es nach wie vor überwiegend von anderen hochgradig umweltbelastenden Energieträgern wie Kohle abhängig ist.
Im 12. Fünfjahresplan, der im März dieses Jahres angenommen wurde, hat sich die chinesische Regierung das Ziel gesetzt, die Energieeffizienz um 16 Prozent zu verbessern und den Anteil der erneuerbaren Energien an der Gesamtnutzung auf 11 Prozent zu erhöhen.
