
El College of Engineers of Caminos, Canales und Ports of Galicien hat den Viadukt des Flusses Ulla del AVE mit dem San Telmo Award die besten Ingenieurarbeiten Galiciens. Die Autoren des Projekts gaben an, dass es die längste Überquerung der Xunta mit einer Gesamtlänge von 1.620 Metern sei.
Die Umsetzung des Projekts an der Mündung der Ría de Arosa war eine wesentliche Voraussetzung für die Umweltintegration. Es wurde versucht, die Anzahl der Säulen im Fluss zu verringern, konstruktive Prozesse so weit wie möglich zu nutzen und strukturelle Konstruktionen zu entwickeln, die Umweltbeeinträchtigungen und Landschaftsfolgen minimieren.
Diese Anforderungen lenkten die Lösung auf eine gemischte Eifersucht mit unterschiedlichem Gesang, mit drei großen Öffnungen von 225, 240 und 225 Metern Licht, und mehrere Arten von 120 Metern. Die vier Zentralbatterien waren eng mit der Eifersucht verbunden und gaben den Portiken genügend Steifheit, um den Anforderungen der hohen Geschwindigkeit an die Verformung zu entsprechen.
Qualität der Arbeiten
Der Präsident des Gerichts, Ricardo Babio Arcay, betonte die hohe Qualität der eingereichten Arbeiten und die Professionalität der durchgeführten Präsentationen. Dies führte dazu, daß das Gericht zum ersten Mal beschlossen hat, drei accésit.
Auf dem Viadukt Ulla wies Babio darauf hin, dass die Welt Rekord in ihrer Typologie, vereint drei sehr unterschiedliche konstruktive Prozesse und ist perfekt in eine einzigartige Landschaft integriert, wie die Mündung des Ulla Flusses. Es ist ein Zeichen dafür, dass die Galicien-Engineering an der Spitze der Welt ist.

Dieses Projekt hat einen Weltrekord in seiner Typologie, die Entfernung zwischen seinen drei Säulen, erinnert daran, dass es zuvor den Viadukt von Natenbach (1983), in Deutschland, über dem Main River, mit 208 Meter in einem zentralen Nichts.
