
Die Herausgeber der Zeitschrift 'The Journal of Chemical Physics' und Amerikanisches Institut für Physik (AIP) haben sich für einen Artikel der Forschungsgruppe Quantenchemie (die an die Abteilung für Chemie-Physik der Universität von Alicante gehört) als eine der bedeutendsten Forschungen des Jahres 2012 entschieden.
Die Forschung, die unter dem Namen "Anwendung von chemisch-quanten Methoden auf Ladungstransferverfahren in organischen Materialien" von Professor Juan Carlos Sancho-Gracía geleitet wird, beschreibt anhand von Berechnungsmethoden das Verhalten bestimmter Arten von organischen Molekülen, die in Zukunft die Eigenschaften von Silizium nachahmen könnten, einem Erz mit sehr hohen Kosten und extrem schwer zu reinigenden Kosten, das in der gesamten Elektronikindustrie um uns herum verwendet wird.
Las Organische Moleküle bieten eine enorme Bandbreite von Möglichkeiten für die Entwicklung neuer Geräte mit optischen, magnetischen oder elektronischen Anwendungen wie Beleuchtungsquellen (Lichtdioden oder LEDs, wie die, die den Flachbildschirm eines Fernsehers bilden), Solarzellen (deren Funktion darin besteht, die Energie der Sonne in Elektrizität umzuwandeln), Transistoren für alle Arten von elektronischen Schaltungen, Moleküldetektoren oder Licht- oder Temperatursensoren.
Die Umsetzung dieser und anderer damit zusammenhängender Studien würde es ermöglichen, viele Anwendungen mit höherer Leistung und niedrigeren Herstellungskosten zu schaffen und neue Anwendungsfelder wie elektronisches Papier, flexible Bildschirme, intelligente Fenster, künstliche Muskeln und Nerven zu schaffen.
