Forscher MNCN, Cavanilles Institut für biologische Vielfalt und Evolutionsbiologieund der Universität Alcalá de Henares die längste Feldstudie durchgeführt haben, um die Auswirkungen elektromagnetischer Felder auf eine wilde Bevölkerung von gewöhnlichem Kohlenfisch, einem insektiven Waldvogel, zu bewerten.

 

Die Ergebnisse sind in der Zeitschrift Environmental Research.

 

Es ist einfach, eine Fülle von Literatur über die Auswirkungen elektromagnetischer Felder auf den Menschen zu finden, die sich vor allem auf die negativen Auswirkungen konzentrieren, obwohl die Ergebnisse immer noch umstritten sind. Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) hat sie als "möglicherweise für den Menschen krebserregend" eingestuft, eine Kategorie, die für jene Stoffe verwendet wird, bei denen der Nachweis einer Karzinogenität beim Menschen begrenzt ist und bei Labortieren weniger als ausreichend ist.

 

Die Messung der biologischen Auswirkungen elektromagnetischer Felder ist kompliziert und noch mehr standardisiert, was den Vergleich der Ergebnisse zwischen verschiedenen Studien erschwert.

 

Die durch Stromleitungen erzeugten Felder können sich in Intensität zwischen Kontinenten und Ländern unterscheiden. Darüber hinaus müssen diese Wirkungen nicht linear sein. Auf jeden Fall gibt es Hinweise darauf, dass elektromagnetische Felder verschiedene biologische Prozesse wie Reproduktion, Wachstum und Entwicklung beeinflussen können.

 

 

Das Legevolumen erhöht sich um 10%

 

Die neunjährige Forschung zur Überwachung der Bevölkerung im selben Gebiet zeigt eine Zunahme der reproduktiven Investitionen von Erwachsenen, die diesen Feldern ausgesetzt sind, im Vergleich zu Vögeln in benachbarten Gebieten. Dies führt zu einer Zunahme der Legegröße und der Größe des Eies, was einer Zunahme des Legevolumens um 10% entspricht.

 

Es ist klar, dass elektromagnetische Felder, die durch Niederspannungsleitungen erzeugt werden, erhebliche Auswirkungen auf die Fortpflanzung von Vögeln haben können. Doch die Ergebnisse des MNCN werden von Jakobus Merino nuanciert: "Im Gegensatz zu dem, was man zu sagen scheint, kann eine Zunahme der reproduktiven Investitionen den Vögeln in Bezug auf die künftige Fruchtbarkeit und/oder das Überleben schaden.

 

Darüber hinaus wurden trotz der höheren Investitionen der Eltern keine Unterschiede in der Endproduktivität zwischen den von den elektromagnetischen Feldern betroffenen Vögeln und ihren Nachbarn festgestellt."

 

Nach Ansicht von Wissenschaftlern sind weitere Studien erforderlich, um die Langzeitfolgen für das Überleben und den Fortpflanzungserfolg sowie die physiologischen Veränderungen von Personen, die elektromagnetischen Feldern ausgesetzt sind, zu bewerten.
