Ein Team von Forschern aus der Zentrum für molekulare Anerkennung und technologische Entwicklung (IDM), die Gemeinsame Abteilung der Universitat Politètecnica deValència und die Universitat deValèencia, hat ein neues elektronisches Sprachensystem für die Ermittlung von Sprengstoffen in kontaminierten Lösungen oder Böden. Das in Laborphase befindliche System wurde für die Bestimmung und Quantifizierung von Trinitrotoluol (TNT) könnte in Zukunft für andere Sprengstoffe eingesetzt werden. Nach den ersten Labortests könnten geringe TNT-Konzentrationen in der 0,2 Milligramm pro Liter.
Die elektronische Sprache ist ein Instrument, das versucht, den Geschmackssinn künstlich zu reproduzieren. In diesem Fall besteht es aus verschiedenen Elektroden aus Materialien wie Platin, Gold, Kupfer, Silber, Kobalt oder Nickel, unter anderem und einer Software zur Anzeige und Analyse der bei der Messung erzielten Ergebnisse. "Ihre Reaktionszeit ist derzeit Minuten, aber sobald das gesamte System integriert ist, kann die Zeit auf ein paar Sekunden verkürzt werden," so Eduardo García Breijo, Forscher des IDM an der Universitat Politic deValència.
Was andere auf dem Markt vorhandene Erkennungsgeräte betrifft, so weisen die UPV-Ermittler darauf hin, dass der größte Unterschied in ihrem System in der Messmethode und der Integration des Signalverarbeitungsprozesses in mikroprogrammierbare Geräte liegt. Sie arbeiten derzeit an der Integration von Datenverarbeitungsalgorithmen in Mikrocontrollersysteme, um ein tragbares Messgerät zu erhalten.
Sonstige Anwendungen
Zusätzlich zu Sprengstoffen arbeiten Forscher der UPV auch an der Anwendung dieser Technologie in "der Erkennung chemischer Waffen oder Drogen, der Überwachung der Lebensmittelqualität, der nichtinvasiven Diagnose (Atem, Urinanalyse, Schweiß, Geruch usw.) oder der Überwachung der Luft- und Wasserverschmutzung in der Landwirtschaft oder Industrie," sagt Ramón Martínez Máñez, Direktor des IDM.
