Forscher der Duke-Universität (USA) Sensor Sie komprimiert die Fotos, wie sie genommen werden, statt später, wie die meisten Kompressoralgorithmen, wie JPEG. Das Gerät ist aus einem Kunstmaterial gefertigt und kann die Arbeit an Kameras und Scannern vereinfachen.

 

Einen Neue Art der Linse ermöglicht es, Bilder effizienter zu komprimieren als die aktuellen Methoden. Es ist hergestellt aus Metamaterialien -Kunststoffe mit Eigenschaften, die von der Natur nicht angeboten werden - und von einem Team aus der Duke-Universität in den USA.

 

Algorithmen wie JPEG können die Größe der Dateien komprimieren, aber sie wirken, nachdem die Bilder aufgenommen wurden. Im Gegenteil, der Metamaterialsensor komprimiert die Fotos, wie sie aufgezeichnet werden, und kompiliert Ihre Informationen effizienter.

 

Der Fund, der diese Woche in der Zeitschrift veröffentlicht wird Wissenschaft, schlägt vor, dass Kameras, Röntgenscanner und andere Bildtechnologien, die mit dem neuen Sensor gebaut werden, die Fotos schneller und ohne so viele Detektoren und Messungen wie derzeit erforderlich erfassen können.

 

Die Forscher haben den Metamaterialsensor verwendet, um Probenbilder zu komprimieren. So haben sie festgestellt, dass sie computermäßig schnell genug aufgenommen und rekonstruiert werden können, um ein Produkt mit Videoqualität zu liefern, ohne Notwendigkeit einer Postkompression.

 

Die Studie ist Teil der aktuellen Tendenz, die Bildverarbeitung in allen ihren Formen effizienter zu gestalten, von hochauflösenden Bildern, die bereits von Smartphones und anderen Smart Handys erfasst werden können, bis hin zu 3D-MRT-Medizinbilder (MRI, magnetic resonance imaginag).
