Forscher der Polytechnische Universität Cartagena (UPCT) werden an der Entwicklung eines der beiden Instrumente beteiligt sein, die an Bord des Euclid-Satellit, deren Start für 2019 geplant ist.


Der Satellit wird mit einem leistungsstarken Teleskop von 1,2 Meter Durchmesser die Bilder von zwei Milliarden Galaxien in eine 576 Kamera nähren wird Millionen Pixel, die sehr hohe Auflösungen bieten, die denen des Orbitalteleskops gleichwertig sind Hubble.


Mit diesen Daten und mit Infrarot-Technologie werden die Wissenschaftler eine dreidimensionale Karte des Universums. Mit dieser Karte wird eine CT-Scan der Verteilung dunkler Materie erstellt und es wird auch möglich sein, grundlegende kosmologische Parameter einzugrenzen, die uns helfen, die Natur der dunklen Energie zu enthüllen.


Die Rolle der UPCT-Forscher wird sich zum einen auf die Konzeption, Herstellung und Validierung der Steuereinheit für das nahe gelegene Infrarot-Instrument, "dass es in der Lage sein wird, "das Instrument zu befehligen, um die richtigen Beobachtungen durchzuführen und seinen Status zu überwachen," erklärt Professor Rafael Toledo, der bereits früher an ESA-Projekten, aber nicht an Weltraummissionen teilgenommen hat und daher "diese Mission, die hoffentlich Antworten auf wichtige Fragen zum Universum geben wird, sehr erfreuend behandelt."


In den weiteren Phasen des Projekts werden UPCT-Wissenschaftler, die von Professor Antonio Pérez koordiniert werden, an der wissenschaftlichen Nutzung der Mission teilnehmen, indem sie die Menge der Daten, die Euclid liefern wird, analysieren.


Eins 1.000 Wissenschaftler In Zusammenarbeit mit einigen Amerikanern beteiligen sich hundert europäische Laboratorien an einem Forschungskonsortium, das unbekannte Teile des Universums erforschen wird, die Verteilung von zwei Milliarden Galaxien kartiert und Daten über die Entstehung der ersten Galaxien generiert, was eine einzigartige und nahezu unerschöpfliche Quelle von Informationen für die Weltastronomische Gemeinschaft darstellen wird.

 

Bei der Entwicklung der Satelliteninstrumente UPCT Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Astrophysik der Kanarischen Inseln und Institut für Weltraumwissenschaft Kataloniens die sich an diesem Projekt beteiligen.
