Die Funktionen der berühmten Google Glasses neu programmieren, um sie als Flugsicherungssystem (DOA) um die Mobilität von Blinden zu verbessern, ist die neue Herausforderung der Forschungsgruppe Mobile Vision Research Lab (MVRLab) Universität Alicante.

 

Es ist ein pointer-Projekt, das seinen Ursprung in der Handy-Führer für Blinde, dass dieses Team von Forschern zusammen mit dem Unternehmen Neosistec, gab er im Laufe des Jahres 2013 bekannt und für den er den Preis der Stiftung Vodafone Spanien in der Kategorie der Anwendungsentwicklung "Mobile for good" erhielt, mit 20.000 Euro ausgestattet.

 

Ihr System besteht aus einer Mobilitätslösung für Blinde auf der Grundlage mobiler Geräte, die auch Google Glass dank der Arbeit von Google Glass zur Verfügung steht. Juan Manuel Sáez, Francisco Escolano y Michelangelo Lozano der Mobile Vision Research Lab-Gruppe.

 

Wie die Forscher selbst erklären, "ist dies ein System, das nicht den Stock oder den Führerhund ersetzt, um Lufthindernisse wie Markisen und Zweige von Bäumen zu erkennen, die auf Menschen mit Sehstörungen ausgerichtet sind." Das System nutzt die Kamera der Google-Objektive, um die Tiefe der Hindernisse zu erkennen, indem es Bilder während der Bewegung des Trägers selbst erfasst. Sobald die Einrichtung eine Begrenzung feststellt, müssen die Brillen ein akustisches Signal aussenden, um den Benutzer zu warnen.

 

Eines der ersten Hindernisse für den Start des Projekts war es, die Exemplare der Google Glasses zu erhalten, "da sie nur in den Vereinigten Staaten vermarktet werden und es das Unternehmen selbst ist, das eine Einladung an Sie schicken sollte," so Sáez. Nach der Unterstützung von zwei Studenten aus der AU in diesem Land zeigte ein Wissenschaftler, der bei Google arbeitet und an einem Sehmangel leidet, seine volle Unterstützung für das AU-Team und gab ihnen die Einladung, zwei dieser Exemplare zu kaufen.

 

Derzeit arbeitet das Team von MVRLab daran, die Technologie, die für die Erkennung von Objekten mit mobilen Geräten auf Goglee Glass entwickelt wurde, neu zu programmieren, und hofft, dass es im Laufe des Jahres 2014 seinen eigenen Prototyp präsentieren wird.

 

 

Mobile Vision Research Lab

 

Das Labor in Mobile Vision der AU konzentriert seine Forschung auf künstliche Sicht auf mobile Geräte, unter Berücksichtigung von Smartphones und anderen persönlichen Geräten mit Kamera ausgestattet, wie mobile Roboter und Luftfahrzeuge. Seine wichtigsten Forschungslinien sind künstliche Vision und Anerkennung von Mustern; Sicht auf Mobilgeräte, Betrunkene und Autotonome; Multimedia-Anwendungen in Mobiles; Videoanalyse; Analyse von Bildern und Biomedizindaten. Bioinformatik; Network Science, einschließlich der Analyse dynamischer mobiler Netzwerke; und Visiontheorien, Anerkennung von Mustern und komplexen Systemen.
