
Gamesa wird zwei neue Windparks bauen, Schlüssel in der Hand, in der Gegend von Gabbal El Zayt, an der Küste des Roten Meeres in Ägypten. Der erste der Verträge 120 MW, wurde von der NREA - einer ägyptischen Einrichtung zur Förderung erneuerbarer Energien - im Rahmen eines internationalen öffentlichen Wettbewerbs vergeben, an dem weltweit führende Hersteller beteiligt waren. Das Abkommen sieht die Lieferung, Installation und Inbetriebnahme von insgesamt 60 Windkraftanlagen G80-2.0 MW in einem neuen Projekt, das von der spanischen Regierung über den Fonds für die Internationalisierung des Unternehmens (FIEM) öffentlich finanziert wird. Die Lieferung der Turbinen beginnt ab Oktober 2016 und wird voraussichtlich im dritten Quartal 2017 in Betrieb genommen.
Das zweite Abkommen sieht die Errichtung anderer 20 Turbinen G80-2.0 MW (40 MW) für die Erweiterung eines bereits laufenden 200 MW-Windprojekts, das auch von NREA nach einer internationalen Ausschreibung im Jahr 2011 an Gamesa vergeben wurde. Die Lieferung dieser 20 neuen Maschinen wird im letzten Quartal dieses Jahres erfolgen, mit dem Ziel, dass sie Anfang 2017 beginnen können. Wie in der ersten Phase des Parks wird diese Erweiterung wieder von der deutschen Entwicklungsbank KfW finanziert.
Mit der Unterzeichnung dieser beiden Verträge wird das Unternehmen insgesamt 80 G80-2.0 MW installieren, ein optimales Modell für Wüstenen, ätzende Umgebungen und hohe Temperaturen, z. B. ägyptische Märkte, dank seiner Robustheit, Zuverlässigkeit und Anpassungsfähigkeit.
Da es sich um schlüsselfertige Projekte handelt, wird das Unternehmen auch für den Bau der für die Installation und den Betrieb des Parks erforderlichen zivilen und elektrischen Infrastruktur sowie für die Instandhaltung in den nächsten drei Jahren zuständig sein.
Gamesa ist der führende ägyptische Marktführer, wo sie 2003 mit der Unterzeichnung ihres ersten Vertrags über die Lieferung von Windkraftanlagen für den Zafarana-Park eintrat. Seitdem hat das Unternehmen in der Nähe von 600 MW im Land und führt die Betriebs- und Instandhaltungsaufgaben über 400 MW aus.
