In Europa sind heute sowohl die öffentlichen als auch die privaten Gebäude die größten Energieverbraucher (40%) und damit die größten CO2-Emitter (36%), was bedeutet, dass der Bausektor eine wesentliche Rolle bei der Energieeinsparung und damit bei der Verringerung der Kohlendioxidemissionen spielt. Die Europäische Union hält dies für einen wichtigen Sektor, um einen positiven Beitrag zur Erreichung der 2020-Ziele zu leisten: Verringerung der Treibhausgasemissionen um 20% gegenüber 1990, 20% Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien und Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz um 20%.

 

Gemäß der im Mai 2010 überarbeiteten europäischen Richtlinie über die Energieeffizienz von Gebäuden ist dieser Prozess bereits in Gang: Die Richtlinie enthält wichtige Prognosen zur Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz von bestehenden Gebäuden und stellt fest, dass alle neuen Gebäude ab 2021 einen "fast Null"-Energiebedarf aufweisen werden, obwohl diese Maßnahme 2019 in öffentlichen Gebäuden umgesetzt werden soll.

Die Zertifizierung nachhaltiger Gebäude wie "LEED" oder "Breeam" legt zusätzliche Kriterien für die Energieeffizienz fest, die nur durch Isolationslösungen erfüllt werden können.

 

Kunststoffe werden für eine wachsende und breite Palette von Anwendungen in Gebäuden verwendet: von der Isolierung bis zu den Rohren und von den Fensterrahmen bis hin zur Innenarchitektur. Ihre Beliebtheit ist auf Nachhaltigkeit, Haltbarkeit und Haltbarkeit, Korrosionsbeständigkeit, geringe Wartungsbedarf, Leichtigkeit und Leichtigkeit der Installation, Kosteneffizienz und die unzähligen Oberflächen, die sie anbieten, zurückzuführen.
