Die Emissionen gingen auch in Griechenland und Zypern (-1,8%), Rumänien (-0,9%), Bulgarien (-0,7%) zurück. "Die Emissionen gingen in Spanien, Griechenland und Irland zurück, zum Teil aufgrund des Konjunkturabschwungs," so die Studie.
In Portugal und Malta blieben sie praktisch stabil und in den übrigen Mitgliedstaaten stiegen sie an. Von den großen EU-Ländern sind Deutschland und Polen (+ 3,8%), das Vereinigte Königreich (+3%) und Frankreich (+1,4%) am stärksten gestiegen.
Der Anstieg der EU-Emissionen um insgesamt 2,4% erklärt die Umweltagentur, dass "die Rückkehr zum Wirtschaftswachstum in vielen Ländern und ein kälterer Winter zu einem Anstieg der Wärmenachfrage führte." "Der Anstieg der Emissionen wurde jedoch durch den Übergang von der Kohle zu Erdgas und das starke anhaltende Wachstum bei der Erzeugung von erneuerbaren Energien erreicht," so der Bericht.
