Die Tsunamis-Vorhersage erfolgt heute mit Methoden, die auf der Erdbebengröße beruhen. Aber eine Möglichkeit, diese Prognosen zu optimieren, besteht darin, sie durch andere Messungen zu ergänzen.

 

Ein Team von Wissenschaftlern aus dem Magister in Zivilingenieurwissenschaften, Abteilung für Zivilarbeit Universität Santa Maria (Chile) analysiert eine Methode zur Verbesserung der Tsunamis-Erkennung durch Installation von Sensoren im Meeresboden.

 

 

Optionen, die verstärkt werden

 

Die Verwendung von Sensoren auf See ermöglicht es, die Charakteristiken eines Tsunami zu vorhersagen, wenn er an der Küste ankommt, basierend auf der anfänglichen Höhe der Tsunami-Welle. Die Technik wird in den USA bereits eingesetzt und wird derzeit in Japan implementiert. In Chile werden Forschung und Forschung und Professor Patricio Catalán untersucht, um herauszufinden, wo sich die Sensoren befinden sollten, um das System in Chile zu verwirklichen.

 

"In Japan und den Vereinigten Staaten ist es möglich, einen Tsunami mit 30 Minuten im Voraus. Die Tsunamis in Chile ziehen sich jedoch sehr schnell zurück, so daß man sie vorhersehen kann.10 Minuten hat der Experte Hiroaki Tsushima erklärt."

 

 

Bildung eines Tsunami

 

 

"Die Prognosen nach Daten, die von diesen Sensoren geliefert werden, sind eindeutiger, weil sie auf der Welle selbst basieren, aber langsamer sind," so Yutaka Hayashi. "Die Vorhersage, die auf der Intensität des Erdbebens basiert, ist nicht so eindeutig, aber schneller, so dass beide Methoden wesentlich sind," fügte er hinzu.

 

Zum Vorteil der Aufnahme dieser neuen Methode in das chilenische System sprach auch Joaquín Meza, einer der Schüler des USM-Meister-Masters für Bauingenieurwissenschaften, die Teil des Forscherteams von Professor Katalanisch war und nach Japan reiste, um sich darüber zu schulen. "Wir bestimmen den optimalen Standort der Sensoren, mit dem Ziel, weniger Ressourcen auszugeben und gute Ergebnisse in Bezug auf Echtzeit-Prognosen zu erzielen, was der erhebliche Vorteil für die Methoden wäre, die Sie derzeit haben," sagte Meza, fügte hinzu, dass die Gruppe könnte ein vorgeschlagenes Standortplan bereits Ende dieses Jahres.

Professor Patricio Catalán hat drei Jahre lang mit der JMA im Rahmen von SATREPS gearbeitet, einer Initiative der japanischen Regierung in Zusammenarbeit mit der japanischen Wissenschafts- und Technologieagentur (JST), die von der japanischen Agentur für internationale Zusammenarbeit (JICA) geleitet wird.
